Nurse Practitioner/Vein Clinic Manager

Julie Grissom is a family nurse practitioner for both the Cardiovascular Surgical Clinic and Mississippi Vein Specialists. She is currently clinic manager for the Mississippi Vein Specialists. Julie also assists the physicians during procedures, post-operative care, and patient follow-up. After receiving her nursing degree from Mississippi College School of Nursing, Julie practiced as a critical care nurse for six years and then went on to earn her masters in nursing and received her certification as a family nurse practitioner from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Julie is a native of Brookhaven, MS and currently resides in Brandon, MS.

Sylvia Newton
Patient Representative and Insurance Specialist

Sylvia is currently a medical assistant for the Cardiovascular Surgical Clinic and also assists with patient education, scheduling, and insurance/Medicare reimbursement for the Mississippi Vein Specialists. She can help answer your questions regarding treatment, scheduling, insurance and cost. She has over 20 years of experience in Medicare and private insurance reimbursement. Sylvia is a native of Hattiesburg, MS and currently resides in Madison, MS with her husband Ronnie and her two children, Josh and Tyler.

Kristy Merritt, RT(R), ARDMS, RVT
Sonographer

Kristy is currently the manager of the vascular laboratory for the Cardiovascular Surgical Clinic. She is highly trained in vascular imaging. She assists the physicians with imaging during Endovenous Laser Treatments (EVLT) and imaging pre and post-operatively. Kristy is a graduate of University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Radiology Technology Program and went on to earn a certificate in ultrasound at Methodist Hospital in Memphis, TN. Kristy is a native of Brandon, MS and currently resides in Brandon, MS.
